I thought I’d switch it up today and post Michael Jai White’s weird and absolutely TERRIBLE cameo in Kill Bill.
Apparently, he was meant to have a much larger role in the film but Tarantino trimmed it down a little and ultimately removed him. However, he still wanted to film a fight scene with Jai White.
The whole thing just doesn’t work at all. From Jai White’s tongue-in-cheek dubbing to the actual action. It’s just…shit. It’s entirely understandable why, during editing, Tarantino cut it from the film entirely.
You can actually watch Michael Jai White talk about it here. This is also the video that stirred up some controversy with Bruce Lee fans when White said he could take Lee in a fight.

Kung fu cinema is often a target when it comes to spoofing. But it seldom works. Sure, Kung Pow did it pretty well if that’s your kind of thing, but most of the time taking the piss out of old school kung fu films doesn’t really work.
I’m not sure what Tarantino was aiming for here though. Homage or comedy? Either way…the results were disastrous.
